Professional Accomplishments:
Mr. Shulman began his private law practice with Mackenzie Smith Lewis Mitchell & Hughes. In 1972 he joined The Pyramid Companies, a Syracuse based shopping center developer, and served as General Counsel until he returned to private practice in 1981, establishing the firm of Van Epps & Shulman.
While with Pyramid, he was responsible for land acquisition, leasing and financing of numerous enclosed mall shopping centers in upstate New York and in Massachusetts. He has continued to represent Pyramid along with Pioneer Development Company, The Widewaters Group, The Edgewater Companies and other developers large and small in all aspects of commercial and residential real estate development from initial zoning and planning to long-term financing with various local, regional and national lending institutions.
He has participated in panels sponsored by the State and County Bar Associations on various aspects of real estate development and is a member of the Onondaga County, New York State and American Bar Associations.
Mr. Shulman served in the US Army Judge Advocate General Corps until 1968.
